Entry procedures through Bahrain International Airport

All vaccinated or unvaccinated passengers aged 6 years and above arriving from red list countries who are allowed to enter the Kingdom of Bahrain are subject to the following rules:

  • Present an approved PCR certificate with a QR code before boarding the plane, administered within 48 hours of departure.
  • Conduct a PCR test upon arrival.
  • Quarantine for a period of ten days at your residence or at a quarantine centre licensed by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA).
  • Conduct a PCR test on the fifth day after arrival.
  • Conduct a quarantine exit swab on the tenth day after arrival.


Passengers arriving from non-red list countries, aged 6 years and above, are to follow the below procedures:

Vaccinated passengers, and passengers who have recovered from COVID-19, within 8 months after the date of infection, arriving from GCC countries, and countries with which Bahrain has signed a mutual vaccination recognition agreement and countries whose vaccination certificates are recognized by the Kingdom arriving from non-red list countries. are to follow the below procedures:

  • Conduct a PCR test upon arrival.
  • Conduct a PCR test on the fifth day after arrival.
  • Conduct a PCR test on the tenth day after arrival.
  • Neither presenting a PCR test before boarding the plane nor quarantining upon arrival is required.

All vaccinated passengers aged 6 years and above who have an approved vaccination certificate from countries that are eligible to obtain an on-arrival visa are to follow the below procedures:

  • Conduct a PCR test upon arrival.
  • Conduct a PCR test on the fifth day after arrival.
  • Conduct a PCR test on the tenth day after arrival.
  • Neither presenting a PCR test before boarding the plane nor quarantining upon arrival is required.

All non-vaccinated passengers are required to follow the below procedures:

  • Present an approved PCR certificate with a QR code before boarding the plane, administered within 72 hours of departure.
  • Conduct a PCR test upon arrival.
  • Quarantine for a period of ten days at your residence or at a quarantine centre licensed by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) - For individuals aged 12 years and above.
  • Conduct a PCR test on the fifth day after arrival.
  • Conduct a PCR test on the tenth day after arrival.

  • Passengers arriving from Red List countries, including passengers who will enter Bahrain temporarily are prohibited from entry unless they are a citizen or hold valid residence visas in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Issuance of visas upon arrival at Bahrain International Airport is limited to those arriving from countries eligible for on-arrival visas, in accordance with the Kingdom of Bahrain's online visa procedures. To see the list of countries, go to www.evisa.gov.bh
  • Vaccination certificates issued by countries whose citizens are eligible for a visa on arrival will be accepted upon entry.
  • Fully vaccinated: completed 14 days after the second dose in a two-dose vaccination series (e.g. Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, etc.) or completed 14 days after administration of a single dose for single-dose vaccination series (e.g. Johnson & Johnson).
  • The arrival, day 5 and day 10 post-arrival tests are are subject to a BHD 36 fee (approximately $96), to be paid prior to arrival through the official BeAware Bahrain App, through the Bahrain eGovernment Portal on bh.bh/covidpay, or upon arrival at a designated airport kiosk, where card and cash payments are accepted.
  • Passengers required to quarantine for 10 days must be at a government designated hotel licensed by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) or at their residence. Passengers must present proof of a prepaid reservation in their name for a designated quarantine facility before boarding a flight to Bahrain. Passengers that elect to quarantine at their own residence must provide proof of residence either owned or leased by the passenger or immediate family member.

  • All arrivals from red list countries, including those under 6, must quarantine for 10 days.
