One mosque; two community centres closed

The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has closed one mosque in the Southern Governorate for two weeks after discovering positive COVID-19 cases.
The ministry has also closed two community centres (maatams) in the Northern Governorate for two weeks for the same reason, in coordination with the National Medical Team for Combatting the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
“The two-week closure will be used by the relevant teams to carry out the process of tracing contacts, sanitize the premises and ensure that all precautionary measures are taken.”, said the ministry.
The ministry warned that it would follow up on the implementation of the mandatory measures at mosques and community centres and intensify inspections to protect people’s health and safety.
